3/8/2012 4:46:11 PM Robert’s Response: What Matters is Liberty and Freedom, Not the Chevy Volt By Robert Ringer - Thursday, March 8, 2012 In response to my Insight about the Chevy Volt, reader “WTF” commented, in part: You folks are a bunch of traitorous sheep. Wishing the Volt to be gone puts thousands of Americans out of work – I only wish the SAME for each of you. It is an engineering marvel, runs 40-44 miles on electricity, which is a round-trip commute for most people, and in the South, that’s 7-10 cents per kWh. You folks should take your heads out of your you-know-what, swing by a Chevy dealer, and at least SEE what you’re complaining about. This car was in the works WAY before the bailout, and while you morons are spending $5 or more per gallon and crying and whining, Volt drivers will be laughing at you at 2-3 cents per mile. As is so often the case when a specific issue is debated, the broader, more important issue(s) is lost in the shuffle. The real issue is freedom. The real issue is free markets. The real issue is the Constitution. The real issue is adherence to the law of the land. I do not wish the Volt to be gone. I just want the free market to decide whether or not it should survive. If people, of their own free will, believe it’s worth the price, they’ll buy the Volt and GM will continue to produce it. If not, the car will go out of production, as it should. Creative destruction is a vital part of keeping the marketplace healthy. GM and Big Brother have violated the law. The quid pro quo from the government was: “Screw your equity holders and give up control to our union supporters, and, in return, we’ll allow you to feed at the government’s corporate-welfare trough.” Whether or not the Volt was “in the works” before the bailout is irrelevant. What is relevant is that taxpayers were forced to bail out GM. In my view, that was a criminal act. If the Volt were the greatest car ever produced, it wouldn’t matter. Even if millions of people wanted to buy it, it wouldn’t matter. What matters is our liberty, and when the government becomes involved in anything other than defending the Constitution, our liberty is violated. Liberty must be given a higher priority than all other objectives — including a politician’s desire to do good things for people. As Senator Jim DeMint points out in his constitutionally grounded book, Now or Never, it’s not the government’s job to do good things. Its job is to protect our natural rights. Whether or not America survives much longer may well depend upon how many people can be brought around to understanding this fundamental truth. 3/20/2012 6:10:12 PM IN MY INBOX... *Now here's something to think about.* When I was about 9 years old I remember asking my dad about Castro . I asked, "Is Castro a good guy or bad?" Dad said...he couldn't tell!! This was about 1955. We were living in Louisiana ...at the time. Dad was in the Army and stationed there. Cuba was fairly close and in the news a lot. The Cubans were asking the same question! Ike was president. This past July 4th, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba. Our dinner conversation was starkly different than most. This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960's. His family was more fortunate than most, as they were able to bring a suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro's newly formed revolutionary paradise. Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad, fresh ears of sweet corn and watermelon. This is a menu shared with family and friends nationwide...while celebrating the birth of our beloved America ...on the Fourth of July. We began with a simple discussion about our country, and the direction it has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering emanating from the rulers in Washington. But then he said it. The sentence flowed naturally from our refugee guest. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train. "You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist". We sat stunned. He continued, "Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn't sound like a radical." The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, "You mean just like Barack Obama?" He responded; "Yes, just like Barack Obama." He continued, "We were all shocked as the government just continued to grab more power. First they said the revolution is over, so please turn in your guns. We all complied." I also remember my uncle saying; “Castro will only nationalize some of the big industries. He will never come and take our family hardware store!!” But that is exactly what happened. Castro started with the sugar mills and the large industries, but they eventually came and knocked on the door of our family hardware store. My family had run this store for generations. They said we now own the hardware store, you work for us. And that four-bedroom home you own...it is now our property too. You have to move yourself and the five children into those two rooms of the house, because others are moving in here with you." The lesson learned from this discussion, is a lesson most Americans refuse to hear. Political leaders can lie about their agenda and once in office, they can take totally unexpected turns. If you had asked us three years ago if we thought General Motors or Chrysler would be nationalized, we would have never believed it. We could never contemplate a country where the rule of law, the most fundamental building block of a justice society...would be evaporating, just like it did in Castro's Cuba in the early 1960's. But the news of injustice keeps increasing; Black Panthers are not charged with wrong doing by the U.S. Department of Justice...because their crimes are against whites; The bond holders of GM are stripped of their assets...without being given due process by the government; Car Dealerships are closed with out due process; Governmental leaders are bribed in full daylight...only to have all investigation of the crimes stifled...by the Attorney General; The U.S. borders are over run with crime and illegal activity, and the leaders in D.C. act as if it is important to protect the lawbreakers...while the innocent are killed and over run; When local communities attempt to enforce the law, they are ridiculed...and threatened as racists and bigots. They are sued by the very administration entrusted with enforcing the law. Without the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution is a sham!! Without the rule of law, our beloved Americais swiftly becoming a country where only the well connected and politically powerful will be safe. As an author recently and so eloquently explained in her most recent book..."a culture of corruption has replaced honest government" (Michelle Malkin). The only way this problem will be fixed, is by massive citizen action. All honest citizens that want to be treated equally, must come together...and demand that the favoritism, the bribes, the uneven enforcement of law...end now!! And yes, it can happen if we all pull together. PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!! And...may God save the United States of America! * *...the very least you can do is forward this email. 6 million plus Jews didn't believe it could happen in Germany either!!! If you're a Christian in these United States of America, you're probably next on the list. History bares that out. The real problem here is, the boy from Cuba did manage to make it to the U.S. Today he and we will not have any place to escape to...except death! AS A COUNTRY, HAVE WE BECOME THIS COMPLACENT? WILL YOU JUST TURN YOUR BACK AND LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES? I HOPE NOT... |

3/20/2012 7:40:08 PM Political Lies: Democrats Increase Game to New Level as We Approach the Election By Robert Ringer - Monday, March 19, 2012 There’s an old saying, sometimes attributed to Newt Gingrich, that “They can lie louder, but we can tell the truth longer.” I’d like to believe that, but after years of watching the Lying Left in action, I’m not so sure about it. Based on how they’ve ramped up their game since the Obamaviks arrived in Washington back in 2009, I’m convinced that the Lying Left possesses the audacity, the shamelessness, and the relentlessness required to tell the most outrageous and vile lies every bit as long as those of us who love liberty can tell the truth. Ho Chi Minh once said that Americans were “short of breath.” By that he meant they did not have the will to go the distance and defeat North Vietnam and the Viet Cong. If he had had more knowledge of American politics, he might have revised his statement to say that it is pseudo-conservative Americans who are short of breath. The Lying Left has been blessed with a cesspool of bona fide marathon liars, and is well aware that most professed conservatives have neither the strength nor the character to match their outrageous lies with the truth indefinitely. The worst-kept secret in Washington is that Republicans are easily intimidated by the Lying Left. At the first sight of blood, mushy RINOs fold under such euphemisms as “compromise,” “bipartisanship,” and “Americans want us to work together.” The uncouth among us might be inclined to refer to such euphemisms as crap. But since such language is beneath me, I prefer to say that conservative truths have a tendency to morph into lies over time. Compromise is a lie. Bipartisanship is a lie. The desire for Democrats and Republicans to work together is a lie. What these euphemisms really mean is more government control, more regulation, higher taxes, and less liberty. That’s why the leading Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, has no intention of trying to tell the truth longer than the Lying Left is prepared to lie. The latest example of this is his amazing statement that “we’re in a recovery mode, finally.” Really? America is $15 trillion in debt (and on the way to $25 trillion or more in the next ten years), has $50-$100 trillion in unfunded Social Security and Medicare liabilities, is suffering a real unemployment rate (according to Gallup) of 10.3 percent, and 46 million people are on food stamps — and we’re in a recovery mode? Democrats must be thinking, “With opponents like Romney, who needs supporters?” The endurance of the Lying Left is a testament to the efficacy of one of Saul Alinsky’s most cherished community-organizing strategies: Isolate and target your enemies (usually those who work for a living and respect the rights of others), then overwhelm them with lies. If you’re caught with your pants on fire, not a problem. Just put out the blaze quickly and double down on your lies. The biggest lie of all, of course, is Obamacare — this week’s hot topic among Beltwayans. The media is in a frenzy trying to smooth over the question of how BHO could have been so “inaccurate” when he was trying to sell his Obamonstrosity to the giddy American public back in his B.S. heyday. Now, the whole unconstitutional mess is rapidly becoming a buffet of lies. For starters, the $1 trillion cost is a lie. Though the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now projects the cost of Obamacare to be roughly double that amount, the truth is that, if it is not overturned or repealed, it will end up costing many multiplies of the original “estimate.” Then there were the endless times that the Duplicitous Despot assured us that anyone who wanted to keep his doctor or his current health insurance would be able to do so. That, too, turned out to be a lie. Various estimates are that anywhere from 14 to 20 million workers are going to lose their current healthcare as a result of Obamacare. The Lying Left, however, points out that the CBO says that most of these workers will qualify for Obamacare benefits, so they will simply be shifted into government-run healthcare. But that’s the whole point! It was clear from the outset that the purpose of Obama’s signature piece of socialist legislation was to force everyone into the government-run healthcaresystem and push insurance companies out of business. The Lying Left is also emphasizing that 30 million previously uninsured people will now be covered. Isn’t that great? The official name for this achievement is redistribution of wealth. Of course, some members of the Lying Left occasionally let their egos and arrogance get the best of them and unthinkingly tell the truth when they want to shove their agenda into the faces of their opponents. That’s what happened with Donald Berwick, whom Obama named as the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in 2010, when he said, in a 2008 speech about the UK healthcare system, “Any healthcare funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized, and humane must — must — redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent health care is by definition redistributional.” Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, another card-carrying member of the Lying Left, made the same kind of ego-oriented mistake, also in 2008, when he said, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” Government-created rights … food stamps … unemployment benefits … Social Security … Medicare … Card Check … global warming … green energy … Cap and Trade … artificially low interest rates … fiat currency … lies, lies, and more lies. The founder of the Lying Left, Vladimir Lenin, undoubtedly would have scolded both Berwick and Chu if he were alive today. Lenin made the rules of the game clear when he famously said, “To tell the truth is a petty bourgeois habit, whereas for us to lie is justified by our objectives.” And he would have chuckled at today’s Republicans, who don’t have strong enough convictions to seriously challenge the Lying Left. It would please him greatly to see that there are still plenty of useful idiots around who can be manipulated into helping collectivists achieve their goals. All of which raises the question: How do we go about putting a presidential candidate in place who has the courage to match the Lying Left, lie for lie, with the truth — and then some? If you know the answer to this question, please do not hesitate to step forward and speak your piece, because the way things look right now, conservatives are once again about to be sold out. 3/21/2012 12:40:48 AM ON FACEBOOK: A great post from Modern Minuteman: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have found it extremely perplexing as to how difficult it can be (and generally is) to open the eyes and/or minds of those that absolutely refuse to see the writing on the wall. I've been doing a crap ton of research for the past 4 years or so...been down the proverbial "rabbit hole"...and educated myself to the reality of the world, the country, the wars and 100 other things...and when I tell you the rabbit hold is deep...I mean it's DEEP, DEEP, DEEP!!! I can tell you with much confidence the "reality" of how things really are is a lot different than most people think and more specifically want to accept, because it's far too painful for the minds of most. I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of 'sheeple' we all run into will not accept the truth until it literally smacks them in the face and even then it's questionable. I'm astounded by how many people just absolutely REFUSE to see what's going on in the country and the world. From the Patriot Act, to the invention of the TSA and the Department of Homeland Security (do people realize Hitler used words and phrases like "protect the Homeland") to the NDAA to HR 347 to NDRP and the militarization of the police forces around the nation (and that's just scratching the surface). The blatant whittling away of the fabric of our freedoms has become so overt it makes me want to scream at the top of my lungs "WAKE UP PEOPLE"!!! Yet, nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. The masses seem to accept everything they hear on the all telling truth box we call the T.V. with out question. When one try's to explain to them it's all propaganda they look at you as if you're some 'conspiracy theorist' or like you have 10 heads. I've tried to wake up my family, my friends, loved ones and have been met with so much resistance it's sickening. When I see the programming of the mind that has happened to most people cause such refusal to see, hear or accept the truth it infuriates me. The mofo's in power through out the last several generations have been and still are extremely smart in their ways and tactics of programming the minds and instilling fear into the masses. Fear is very paralyzing. Fear will cause other wise good people to do NOTHING even when everything is collapsing around them. If anyone has any ideas for waking people up short of a size 12 boot in their asses, I'm sure sitting here with an open mind and open ears. In the words of the late George Carlin "Right's aren't rights if someone can take'em away, they're nothing more than a list of temporary privileges" Have we all been deluding ourselves that our rights are nothing more than a list of temporary privileges and when the powers that be decide our rights are no longer in their best interest, they can just take them? In closing...just to mention yet another overt middle finger to the people by the powers that be....Leon Panetta tells the Senate/Congress they seek authorization from International entities for approval for war...and oh, by the way, if we feel it's relevant "well let'cha know" if we decide to go to war.....THEN....THEN....he goes to Afghanistan to give a speech to a few hundred soldiers/marines and has them disarm? Are you freaking kidding me? Disarm? REALLY? Gee, I wonder what it is that he could possibly be worried about. We've been sold out people. We've been completely sold out and it's happened right under our noses. ("sigh") Oh yeah, one more thing...I personally think that if we end up seeing a 'doomsday' scenario, I firmly believe it will be man made, man induced, man created...like this Iran crap...yeah, sure, lets go swat that hornets nest...because we need to piss off the 2 other largest super powers on the planet...Russia and China. If we do (or get involved in) that Iran thing, God help us all because it won't end well. xqrz499 |

3/22/2012 12:02:20 PM In my inbox: Gray-Haired Brigade They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration. In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days. We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America ; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America, and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America. Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent. It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies." You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Kool-Aid.' Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house. Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2012 we're going to the polls by the millions. This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade." Author, Anon. Grey-Haired Brigade Member Footnote: This is spot on. I am another Gray-Haired Geezer signing on. I will circulate this to other Gray-Haired Geezers all over this once great county. Can you feel the ground shaking??? It's not an earthquake, it is a STAMPEDE. |

3/23/2012 2:05:52 PM America’s Problem is Government Taking Away People’s Freedom: Does Rick Santorum Agree with Ron Paul? By Robert Ringer - Thursday, March 22, 2012 To say the least, I’m not a big Rick Santorum fan. Even so, I am obliged to say I was impressed by his statement earlier this week that “the issue in the presidential race is not the economy, but an oppressive government that’s taking away people’s freedom.” Love him or hate him, Santorum was spot on with that one. The ever-worsening state of the economy (and, yes, it is getting worse) is but a symptom of the ever-worsening state of our freedom (the cause). The government cannot “fix” the economy. Only free people can do that. The government, however, is quite capable of making the economy worse. George W. Bush proved that, and Barack Obama is making him look like a free-market champion by comparison. Kids who can’t open a lemonade stand without fear of being fined are not living in a free country. An Idaho couple that has to take its case all the way to the Supreme Court just to earn the right to challenge an Environmental Protection Agency ruling that their property is a “protected wetland,” and that they are therefore barred from building on it, is not living in a free country. When the government can take your money and redistribute it to others, force you to buy a product you do not want, spy on you without cause, even kill you — you are not living in a free country. Ron Paul has been preaching this message for more than three decades, so, quite naturally, he is reviled by the establishment in both wings of the Demopublican Party. In case you’ve never seen them before, here are Paul’s Six Forgotten Principles of Freedom: Rights belong to individuals, not groups. Property was intended to be owned by people, not governments. All voluntary associations should be permissible, both economic and social. The government’s monetary role is to maintain the integrity of the monetary unit, not to participate in fraud by debauching it. The justification for the existence of government is to protect the liberty of individuals, not to redistribute wealth or pass out special privileges. People’s lives and actions are their own responsibility, not the government’s. Now, if Rick Santorum is willing to sign off on all of the above, I’d be happy to welcome him into the Freedom Fighters Club. Anytime a politician arrives at the point where he agrees with Ron Paul’s Six Forgotten Principles of Freedom, it’s one less enemy that we, the people, have to worry about.
