Most forums have a place for OFF TOPIC discussions.

I find it amusing that some people read and post to threads that they wish were not here. It just makes the thread "pop to the top" so more people will read it...LMAO!!!

And this thread is about politics.

"Politics is a process by which groups of people make decisions. The term is generally applied to behavior within civil governments, but politics has been observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic and religious institutions. It consists of "social relations involving authority or power"[1] and refers to the regulation of a political unit,[2] and to the methods and tactics used to formulate and apply policy.[3]

The word "Politics" comes from the Greek word "polis" meaning state or city. "Politikos" describes anything concerning the state or city affairs. In Latin, this was "politicus" and in French "politique". Thus it became "politics" in Middle English"

It is appropriate because of the way SOME PEOPLE are acting which is a microcosm of the country and world. One person/group wanting to dictate what is best for another person/group rather than have a "live and let live" attitude which results in "war" between people/groups.

Let's call it "off topic" then. :)

I was in DC on 912. Never met a racist. Never met a bigot. Never met a corporate sponsored "astro turfer". Never met a republican. Never met a democrat.

I met Americans. 1000s and 1000s and all had the same message. "leave me alone".

Not one word of hate.

But the news coverage was simply amazing. Goebbels would be so proud of our compassionate media.

:)

You need to get a hobby instead of reading posts you don't like and telling everyone to keep quiet (that is gentle). Can I suggest reading the constitution and the bill of rights? If there is a thread that I don't agree with I don't go back in. Very simple. If that is to hard to absorb you really should consider therapy...cause you have issues.

My favorite sign was:

"We came unarmed... THIS TIME!"

Perhaps he could consider a career in politics...LMAO!!!!

That way he could make the laws HE WANTS instead of following the US CONSTITUTION like what congress and the president are doing.

LOL Nobel peace prize?LOL "I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments","To be honest I do not feel I deserve to be in the company of so many trans formative figures who have been honored by this prize".Thanks for immediately pointing that out Obama. Even a lie spouting, snake oil dealing, party line figure head occasionally blurbs a snippet of honesty.

IN MY INBOX TODAY
========================

A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that
while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very
much, a billion of them would. With that thought in mind, read the
following obviously written by a good American. Good idea . . . one
light bulb at a time . . . .

Check this out. In Lowe's the other day for some reason and
just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments. They were
all made in China. The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the
heck of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA.
Start looking.
In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or
do affects someone else - even their job. So, after reading this email,
I think this lady is on the right track. Let's get behind her!
My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is
marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more. My favorite
toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest.
You have to read the labels on everything.

This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60W light bulbs and
Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to
the GE brand I normally buy was an off brand labeled, "Everyday Value. "
I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the
same except for the price. The GE bulbs were more money than the
Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the
fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in
- get ready for this - the USA in a company in Cleveland, Ohio.
So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use
every day that are made right here. So on to another aisle - Bounce
Dryer Sheets . . . yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is
made in Canada. The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE
USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like
the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the
price!

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop
for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA -
the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!
If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your
address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a
time! Stop buying from overseas companies! We should have awakened a
decade ago . . . . . .

Let's get with the program . . . . help our fellow Americans
keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U.S.A.

We better all stay very alert and informed, what is happening in the US and at the highest levels of government is a disgrace to us all. The legacy of our Founding Fathers, the Bill of Rights, and The United States Constitution need to be revisited, revered and reasserted. Thank you Rumpled for getting peoples attention.
